Changing the Culture
The 1960's music was influenced by the sexual revolution, feminism, black power and environmentalism. This trend took place in a period of massive public unrest in the united states which consisted of the cold war, Vietnam war, and civil rights movement. The 60's began with soul music such as singers like Marvin Gaye and James Brown. They called this the baby boom generation because teenagers liked a new kind of music called Rock n roll sung by American and British bands. 1950's Musicians like Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry influenced 1960's music. At this time there was so many types of music such as Rock n Roll, Jazz, and Soul. Rock n Roll was changing the way young people entertained themselves some people said "Its disturbing how they don't know how to behave." They said this Because they were out of control and did things they shouldn't have done at a young age.
